Dynamic Characteristics and Effective Stiffness Properties of Sandwich Panels with Hierarchical Hexagonal Honeycomb

The dynamic characteristics of sandwich panels with a hierarchical hexagonal honeycomb (SP-HHHs) show significant improvements due to their distinct hierarchy configurations. However, this also increases the complexity structural analysis. To address issue, variational asymptotic method was utilized homogenize unit cell SP-HHH and obtain equivalent stiffness, establishing two-dimensional plate model (2D-EPM). accuracy effectiveness 2D-EPM were then verified through comparisons results from detailed 3D FE in terms free vibration frequency- time-domain forced vibration, as well local field recovery analysis at peak trough times. Furthermore, tailorability typical perform parametric effects length thickness ratios first-order on under periodic loading. reveal that vertices serve weak points SP-HHH, while vertex pattern significantly influences specific stiffness panel. cells has superior compared circular rectangular cells, resulting more lightweight design enhanced stiffness.
